I will make decisions based on facts, data, and logic, even when these decisions are unpopular. 

I will lead by example, not by words, power, or manipulation. 

I will provide open and honest leadership, promote citizen participation, and support and encourage our Town staff.  

 I will strive to work collaboratively to deliver quality public services to taxpayers, while modeling best practices for civic accountability and transparency.

Transparency is essential, and the prevalence of closed-door, executive sessions has led to distrust. Residents have a right to know what decisions are being made, especially regarding plans for Milton’s future. Meetings should be open and accessible to all. 

 I will look for the root cause of problems and recognize the difference between the right to act, and the wisdom of occasionally not taking action. 

  I am open to learning from others and will always act in the best interest of the Town.    

The role of the Select Board is steeped in nearly 400 years of tradition and has played a significant role in creating the Town we live in today. I will honor the Town’s traditions while preparing for inevitable change.
